Union Minister of State Shobha Karandlaje has appealed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah for a comprehensive investigation into the illegal transfer of funds from Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation.

The scandal surfaced after the suicide of the corporation's Accounts Superintendent, Chandrasekharan P, who alleged in his note that Rs 187 crore had been transferred illegally.

Karandlaje emphasized the pressing need for a transparent inquiry, particularly into the role of Union Bank and other financial institutions potentially involved in the scandal. She also called for support for Chandrasekharan's family and stronger oversight mechanisms for developmental funds.
