Arunachal Govt's Rs 150 Crore Pension Boost: Beneficiaries Thrilled
The Arunachal Pradesh government has allocated Rs 150 crore under the Chief Minister’s Social Security Scheme (CMSSS) to support various pension schemes in the state. The initiative will benefit thousands of elderly individuals, widows, and persons with disabilities. Disbursements are planned in phases, with a significant chunk already released across 12 districts.

The Arunachal Pradesh government has earmarked Rs 150 crore under the Chief Minister’s Social Security Scheme (CMSSS) for diverse pension schemes statewide.
On Thursday, SJETA minister reported that around 64,096 people aged 60-79, including 3,450 aged 80 and above, will benefit from the Chief Minister's Old Age Pension Schemes (CMOAPS). Additionally, 13,209 individuals will benefit from the CM Widow Pension Schemes (WPS).
Emphasizing the scheme's inclusivity, the minister noted that 6,120 persons with disabilities will also receive pensions. The CM Divyangjan Pension is part of the broader efforts by the Chief Minister Pema Khandu-led BJP government to financially aid differently-abled people across the state.
For the financial year 2023-24, Rs 1,173.562 lakh is allocated to beneficiaries, with Rs 217.839 lakh set aside to clear pending dues from 2022-23. Phase-I saw Rs 46,62,98,400 distributed across 12 districts. Funds for the remaining 13 districts will follow post verification of beneficiary data from districts like Namsai, East Siang, and Anjaw.
