Tragic Demise of Gujarat IFS Officer: Suspected Suicide

In a tragic incident, a Gujarat-cadre Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, R M Parmar, allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself at his residence in Dahod town early Friday morning. Police officials confirmed the incident and stated no suicide note was found.
The 56-year-old officer reportedly used his own revolver to end his life at around 5 am. Dahod district superintendent of police, Rajdeepsinh Zala, confirmed the details. 'Parmar committed suicide using his revolver. We have sent the body for post-mortem and launched a probe to understand the reasons,' said Zala.
Parmar's family rushed to his bedroom upon hearing a loud noise, only to find him in a pool of blood. Parmar, who joined the state forest service as a range forest officer and was promoted to an IFS officer in 2022, held the position of deputy conservator of forest (DCF), Social Forestry Division in Dahod. The investigation is ongoing.
