CRPF Jawan Killed in Manipur Militant Attack

CRPF jawan Ajay Kumar Jha, 43, was killed in a militant attack at Mongbung village in Manipur's Jiribam district. A policeman was also injured. Additional security forces have been deployed, and a security vehicle was damaged in the incident.

In a tragic incident on Sunday morning, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan, identified as Ajay Kumar Jha, 43, was killed by suspected militants in Mongbung village, located in Manipur’s Jiribam district, according to police reports.

A policeman was injured in the attack and has been admitted to a hospital. He is currently undergoing treatment but is said to be out of danger.

Local authorities noted that gunshots were also heard in the village on Saturday night. In response to the escalating violence, additional security forces have been dispatched to Mongbung from nearby hill areas. A security personnel vehicle was also damaged during the attack.
