After nine years of legal battles, Mahender has been acquitted of rape charges due to unreliable testimonies from the alleged victim. The judgement, delivered by Additional Sessions Judge Priyanka Bhagat of Tis Hazari district court, emphasized contradictions in her statements and lack of material evidence.
In 2014, Mahender was accused of spiking the woman's food in Nainital, raping her while she was unconscious, and filming the act. She alleged he later threatened to circulate the video and raped her again in Delhi. However, the court found no corroborative evidence supporting these claims.
The court highlighted significant discrepancies in the woman's testimony, noting that she admitted to being in contact with others during the alleged incidents. This, along with other contradictions, led to Mahender's acquittal due to the prosecution's failure to prove the case beyond reasonable doubt.
