Trinamool MP Promises Rectification Amid Allegations Against Local Leader

Senior Trinamool Congress MP Saugata Roy has vowed to rectify any past wrongdoings amid allegations of atrocities involving local leader Jayant Singh in Ariadaha, West Bengal. Roy emphasized that party leaders will distance themselves from real estate promoters and assured strict punishment for Singh while speaking to reporters after a meeting with local officials.

In the wake of allegations against a local leader in Ariadaha, North 24 Parganas, senior Trinamool Congress MP Saugata Roy stated on Monday that the party would rectify any past wrongdoings if necessary.

Roy emphasized that party leaders should maintain a distance from real estate promoters. "What has happened is wrong. I will correct it, it will not happen in the future. No one should say anything against the party outside. Anything wrong in the past will be rectified," Roy told reporters.

He held a meeting with local MLA Madan Mitra and Kamarhati Municipality officials to address videos showing TMC leader Jayant Singh or his men torturing people. Roy claimed that neither the party nor civic authorities knew about Singh's unauthorized palatial residence. "We had no clue that Jayant had built such a big house. The police have been asked to book Jayant under strict laws. I have asked the police to give Jayant the strictest punishment," Mitra added. The videos included a two-year-old clip of a person being suspended and beaten by Singh's associates.
