Man Arrested for Flashing Woman on Bus

A deaf and dumb man has been arrested for allegedly flashing at a woman on a bus near Bekal district, police reported on Wednesday.

The 50-year-old suspect was charged with insulting the modesty of a woman by word or gesture under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), according to an officer from Bekal police station.

"The offence is bailable. He was arrested on Tuesday and subsequently released on station bail," stated the officer.

The arrest followed a complaint from the woman, who was travelling on the same bus with her daughter. She alleged that the man started exhibiting his private parts while seated nearby. Despite being noticed, he did not cease his actions. The woman recorded the incident on video, which was later aired on TV channels.

This is not an isolated case, as similar incidents have occurred in the state previously, including last year.
