An elderly farmer named Shankarlal rolled on the floor of the collector's office in Madhya Pradesh's Mandsaur district, protesting against alleged land-grabbing issues that officials have denied addressing.
In a widely circulated video, Shankarlal claimed that his land was fraudulently taken by a land mafia working with officials. He staged the dramatic protest after his complaint went unheard during a public hearing.
Collector Dilip Yadav dismissed the allegations, stating that investigations showed Shankarlal and his family jointly own the land in question. A report by the SDM and tehsildar affirmed no illegal occupation. Conversely, Shankarlal was found occupying land not belonging to him. The Congress party condemned the incident and called for appropriate action.
