Punjab Police Bust Major Smuggling Ring, Seize 7 Kg Heroin and Five Pistols
Punjab Police arrested two individuals in connection with smuggling operations involving 7 kg of heroin and five pistols. The accused were linked to Pakistan-based smugglers and trafficked drugs and weapons via drones. A case has been filed under the NDPS Act and the Arms Act, and investigations are ongoing.

Punjab Police have arrested two suspects linked to a significant smuggling operation, seizing 7 kg of heroin and five pistols.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused were in direct contact with Pakistan-based smugglers, using drones to traffic drugs and weapons across the state. A case has been filed under the NDPS Act and the Arms Act.
According to Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, the accused are Gurmukh Singh of Bhura Kona, Tarn Taran, and Jagwant Singh of Mehdipur, Tarn Taran. The police recovered five live cartridges and magazines from them, following a tipoff about a weapon consignment near Muhawa village in Amritsar.
During interrogation, the suspects disclosed the location of hidden heroin, leading police to raid the area and recover 7 kg of the drug. SSP Amritsar Rural Satinder Singh stated that further investigations are in progress to determine the full extent of the smuggling network and properties associated with the accused.
