The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has taken legal action against probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar, accusing her of fraudulently extending her eligibility for the civil services examination by misrepresenting her identity. UPSC reported that a criminal case has been filed, and steps are being taken to debar her from future selections.
Delhi Police's Crime Branch has initiated an investigation following UPSC's complaint. The police revealed that Khedkar had falsified personal details to unlawfully obtain additional attempts at the exams. The probe came after a detailed inquiry by UPSC, which found significant discrepancies in her application.
During her recent training at the Pune District Collectorate, Khedkar misused her position by demanding undue perks and was subsequently transferred to Washim District. The UPSC emphasized its commitment to maintaining the integrity and fairness of its examination processes.
