The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has charge sheeted ten individuals, including Canada-based terrorist Goldy Brar, in an extortion case in Chandigarh. According to an NIA statement, two of the accused, Brar and his close associate Gurpreet Singh alias Goldy Dhillon, are absconding.

Brar has been identified as the key conspirator, charged with forming a terror gang to carry out activities in India. The NIA's investigations revealed that Brar and Dhillon recruited the arrested individuals into their terror-exortion-narco network, targeting affluent businessmen who refused to pay extortion money.

The probe further disclosed that Brar's network was involved in smuggling arms and narcotics, and orchestrating attacks across Punjab, Chandigarh, and other states. The charge sheet was presented before a special NIA court against all ten accused.
