Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud has voiced concerns over the drawbacks of technological dependence, citing the Microsoft outage on July 19 as a poignant example.

During the event commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court, he revealed that his flight from Delhi to Madurai narrowly avoided cancellation due to the outage.

'Although I am a strong advocate of technological advancements, the incident underscored the vulnerabilities inherent in our reliance on tech. Numerous flights were canceled nationwide, but thanks to the community of Madurai, I managed to be here today,' Justice Chandrachud stated.
