In the early hours of Monday, Army troops successfully thwarted a terrorist attack on a security post in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, according to officials.
The terrorists initiated the assault at around 4 am in the Gundha area by opening fire on the Army post. Troops promptly retaliated, leading to intense exchanges of gunfire, an Army spokesperson reported.
Following the failed attack, security forces launched a cordon and search operation to track down the assailants. Reports have surfaced that a jawan and a civilian were injured. Fresh skirmishes have since broken out, and the search operation is ongoing. Sources disclosed that the terrorists initially attempted to attack the house of a village defense group member but were repelled by police, leading them to target the Army post instead.
