Tragic Incident: Couple Found Dead in Upper Lake
A couple, Priya Sahu and Upendra Soni, allegedly committed suicide by jumping into Upper Lake in the early hours of Wednesday. Morning walkers spotted their bodies floating and alerted the police. The tragic event is believed to have occurred late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning.
Passing morning walkers alerted authorities upon discovering the floating bodies, according to Ram Vilas Vimal, the in-charge of Shyamla Hills police station.
The deceased were identified as Priya Sahu, 25, and Upendra Soni, 35, with a scooter found parked nearby.
Initial investigations revealed that Sahu had been living with Soni since her husband's death in January. The motive behind their drastic action remains undetermined.
