A 20-year-old man and his three associates were arrested for allegedly robbing his employer of Rs 14.5 lakh to fund his sister's wedding and repay his father's loan, according to police statements on Wednesday.
The incident occurred on Saturday when the complainant, Naman, was traveling to Haiderpur in an autorickshaw accompanied by one of the accused. Gautam, Guddu, Kunal, and Sumit have been identified as the main suspects.
The plan was executed when their autorickshaw was hit by a motorcycle near Kasturba Gandhi Institute of Technology. During the ensuing chaos, two accomplices stole the money sack and fled. Police arrested Gautam after he confessed to organizing the crime with his brother and friends. Efforts are underway to capture another accomplice, Rohit, who is still at large.
