Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday drew a striking comparison between his political rival YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and notorious Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar. Naidu criticized Reddy for the state's lawlessness and alleged narcotics problem during the YSRCP regime.

Unveiling a white paper on the state's law and ganja (marijuana) prevalence, Naidu asserted he had never witnessed such chaos as during the past five years under YSRCP rule. He remarked, 'Only one person can be compared to what happened in Andhra, and it is Pablo Escobar,' signaling the extent of the drug crisis.

Naidu elaborated that Escobar was a narco-terrorist who amassed billions from illegal drug trade and orchestrated killings of opponents. He pointed out the striking resemblance with Andhra Pradesh under YSRCP, where ganja was reportedly rampant between 2019 and 2024, vowing to eliminate the drug scourge.
