Clerk Caught in Bribery Scandal in Madhya Pradesh

A clerk in the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) office in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, was detained on Thursday for allegedly soliciting and accepting a bribe from a retired employee to expedite the processing of his pension benefits, according to a Lokayukta police official.
The complainant, a former dresser at the Jawar community health centre who retired on May 31, was initially asked to pay Rs 18,000 by the accused, Piyus Chaikde. This demand was later reduced to Rs 7,000, confirmed Lokayukta's Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) DC Patel.
“Chaikde, who is attached to the office of the Chief Medical and Health Officer, was apprehended while accepting Rs 7,000. A case has been registered, and an in-depth investigation is ongoing,” the Deputy SP added.
