After a relentless five-month manhunt, the police have successfully apprehended a rape accused in the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir. The suspect, Sandeep Singh, is a resident of Hoochak village in Pogal.

Singh had been evading capture since a rape case was lodged against him at the Ramsoo police station on March 19. On Saturday, a special police team, led by Senior Superintendent of Police Ramban, Anuj Kumar, managed to arrest Singh in Ukhral.

Following his arrest, the accused was produced before the local court and has been remanded to police custody to facilitate further investigation into the case, according to a police spokesman.
