A case has been registered against Geeta Kol for allegedly branding a 3-year-old boy with a hot tawa in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol district, according to police officials on Saturday. Kol contends that the child accidentally sat on the hot cooking utensil.

The incident occurred on Friday within the Amlai police station jurisdiction. Station in-charge Jaiprakash Sharma reported that Kol had adopted her sister-in-law’s son two months prior and initially took good care of him. However, she allegedly began beating him over time.

Sharma noted that the child's injuries were a result of repeated beatings and branding with the tawa. A neighbor relayed information about the assault to the boy’s mother in Rewa district, prompting her to file a police complaint at Amlai station. The child is currently receiving medical treatment. Legal action is pending further investigation and statements.
