A BJP worker has been allegedly shot at and injured in the Chandausi area of the district, with police indicating the incident may be linked to a land dispute.

On Saturday night, police received a report about a shooting on Bahjoi Road. Sambhal Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Singh Gunawat confirmed that Prem Pal, 55, was found injured and subsequently rushed to the district hospital. He was later referred to Moradabad for further treatment.

According to Gunawat, Pal, a member of the BJP's local unit, sustained a shoulder injury after being shot from behind.

An FIR has been registered based on Pal's complaint against three suspects—Dilip, Shyam Lal, and Hemant. These individuals have now been taken into custody and are being interrogated. The police officer mentioned that, prima facie, the incident seems to stem from a land dispute.
