Shocking Murder in Tamil Nadu: AIADMK Functionary Hacked to Death

In a shocking incident, a 45-year-old AIADMK functionary from Tamil Nadu was allegedly hacked to death by a five-member gang in Irulanchanthai village, Puducherry, on Sunday, according to police sources.

Padmanaban, the AIADMK functionary from Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, was returning home on a motorcycle with his friend when an assailant gang in a car intercepted and knocked them down. The attackers allegedly hacked Padmanaban to death with sharp-edged weapons, while his friend managed to escape, sources said.

The Bahoor commune police, within whose jurisdiction the crime occurred, swiftly arrived at the scene. Padmanaban's body was sent to the government general hospital in Puducherry for a post-mortem examination. A case has been registered, and two individuals have been detained for questioning, the police confirmed.
