Security has been intensified in Old Rajinder Nagar, a coaching hub, as protests erupted over the tragic deaths of three students who drowned in their institute's flooded basement following heavy rains, officials confirmed on Monday.

Protesters, comprising mainly IAS aspirants, have sat on the ground demanding justice, compensation for the families of the deceased, and stringent action against those responsible.

According to Ankit Singh, a protester, police have erected barricades near the protest site and are now allowing everyone to join the protest after initially checking ID cards. Additionally, two earthmovers have been deployed to the site.

The protest is centered outside Rau's IAS Study Circle, where the incident occurred. A senior police officer mentioned that paramilitary forces and additional police have been deployed to maintain law and order. On Sunday, a significant protest blocked both carriageways of the Pusa Road near Karol Bagh Metro Station.

The officer urged everyone to maintain law and order, noting the importance of Pusa Road, which has several hospitals nearby. The area has been barricaded and additional forces deployed to ensure peace and minimize disruptions.
