Constable Suspended Over Kanwar Yatra Incident

A police constable named Khemchand was suspended after allegedly slapping a participant of a Kanwar yatra. The incident took place when police intervened due to loud music being played at night. Following a heated argument between the kanwariyas and the police officers, Khemchand slapped one of the yatra participants.

A police constable was suspended for allegedly slapping a member of a Kanwar yatra, an officer reported on Monday.

The incident occurred Sunday night when a kanwar yatra, accompanied by a vehicle with a high-volume music system, passed through a village. Police stopped the vehicle following complaints about the loud music and urged the kanwariyas to refrain from playing music at night.

A heated argument ensued between the kanwariyas and the officers at the Sambhar Lake police station. During the confrontation, Constable Khemchand allegedly slapped one of the kanwariyas, leading to his suspension and an inquiry ordered by Superintendent of Police Jaipur Rural Shantanu Kumar Singh Chandrawat.
