The Supreme Court on Monday scheduled a hearing on August 5 for AAP leader Manish Sisodia's bail pleas concerning corruption and money-laundering charges linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam.
A bench comprising Justice BR Gavai and Justice KV Viswanathan presided over the matter. Additional Solicitor General SV Raju informed the court that while the CBI had submitted its response to Sisodia's plea, it had not yet been added to the record. He further stated that the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) counter affidavit was ready for filing.
Despite Raju's objections to the repeated challenges to the same Delhi High Court order, the court will proceed with the hearing. Sisodia, who has remained in custody since his arrest in early 2023, seeks bail and contends that the trial has made no progress since October 2023.
