Trio Arrested in New Delhi Infant Kidnapping Case

Three individuals, including a woman, were arrested for allegedly kidnapping a one-month-old infant from north Delhi's Kashmere Gate area. Police traced the suspects using CCTV footage and arrested the trio, safely recovering the infant. Further investigation is ongoing, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) said.

Three individuals, including a woman, were arrested in north Delhi's Kashmere Gate area for allegedly kidnapping a one-month-old infant, officials confirmed on Monday.

According to police, the kidnapping was reported via a PCR call at 3 am on July 28. A woman complained that her infant son went missing while they slept on a footpath near Hanuman Mandir. An FIR was immediately registered and multiple teams were deployed to apprehend the culprits, stated Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) M K Meena.

The investigation team reviewed over 100 CCTV cameras in the vicinity and identified a red-colored taxi lingering near the crime scene. The taxi was later spotted heading towards Geeta Colony. Authorities tracked the taxi's ownership to Devender Singh, who was arrested in New Seemapuri. During interrogation, Singh disclosed the names of his accomplices, Sukhzinder Singh and his wife Balwinder Kaur. The couple was subsequently arrested in Okhla's Gandhi Camp, and the kidnapped infant was safely recovered. The investigation remains active, DCP Meena added.
