Five Arrested in Tragic Drowning Incident at Coaching Centre

Five individuals, including the co-owners of a coaching centre and a driver, were arrested in connection with the drowning of three civil service aspirants. They have been sent to judicial custody for 14 days. The incident occurred when rainwater flooded the basement of the coaching centre.

Five individuals have been arrested following a tragic incident where three civil service aspirants drowned in the basement of a coaching centre in Rajinder Nagar. The accused include the co-owners of the centre and a car driver.

They were brought before Judicial Magistrate Vinod Kumar, who ordered their judicial custody until August 12. The court will hear their bail pleas on Tuesday.

The flooding occurred when rainwater breached the gates of the three-storey building, inundating the basement. Counsel for the driver, Manuj Kathuria, argued for his release, stating he had no intention or knowledge of causing harm. Meanwhile, lawyers for the co-owners argued that leasing the building does not imply criminal liability.
