Officials have called for offensive operations and reinforced deployments in districts in the Jammu region affected by terror attacks. This directive follows 15 terror incidents in the past 50 days, resulting in the loss of 10 security personnel and nine pilgrims, and injuring 58 others.
Ahead of Independence Day, a security review meeting highlighted the necessity to strengthen border deployments and secure police and army establishments. Additional Director General of Police (Jammu Zone) Anand Jain emphasized the need for joint checkpoints at vulnerable locations and inter-district boundaries.
The meeting also called for comprehensive security plans and inter-agency cooperation to address threats and ensure the peaceful conduct of the ongoing Amarnath Yatra. Officials stressed the importance of mitigating threats through heightened vigilance in border areas and the hinterland.
