Tragedy in Singrauli: Three-Year-Old Dies After Borewell Accident

A three-year-old girl named Shoumya tragically died after accidentally falling into a borewell near Kasar village in Singrauli district, Madhya Pradesh. Despite a five-and-a-half-hour rescue operation, she was pronounced dead upon reaching the hospital. The incident occurred while she was playing in a field.

A tragic incident unfolded in Madhya Pradesh's Singrauli district on Monday evening, as a three-year-old girl named Shoumya slipped into a borewell near Kasar village. Officials reported that the incident occurred around 5 pm while she was playing in an agricultural field.

The borewell, which is over 250 feet deep, trapped the girl at a depth of 25 feet, according to Bargawan police station inspector Shivpujan Mishra. Rescuers launched an operation immediately and managed to pull her out after five and a half painstaking hours.

After being extricated, Shoumya was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. District Chief Medical and Health Officer NK Jain sadly said that despite thorough medical examination, she was declared dead.
