A 34-year-old woman sustained burn injuries after her husband hurled an inflammable substance at her following a domestic quarrel in Shil village, Thane district, Maharashtra, police said on Tuesday.
Based on the victim's complaint, police registered an FIR on Monday under sections 118 (1) (causing grievous hurt), 115 (voluntarily causing hurt), and 352 (intentional insult to provoke) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against her husband, Prakash F Chavan, 40.
Chavan allegedly attacked his wife in the early hours of July 24, causing burns on her face and body. The woman is currently being treated at a local hospital. Officials report that no arrests have been made yet.
