Defamation Case: Tabassum Rao Testifies Against BJP MLA Yatnal

Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao's wife, Tabassum Rao, recorded her statement against former Union Minister and BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal. She filed a criminal defamation case after Yatnal allegedly made inflammatory remarks about her inter-religious marriage. The court has scheduled the next hearings for August 7 and 8.

Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao’s wife, Tabassum Rao, recorded her statement on Wednesday before a special court, accusing former Union Minister and BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal of defamation.

Tabassum Rao filed the criminal defamation case in April, following Yatnal’s alleged incendiary comments that derogatorily referred to her inter-religious marriage, calling the Congress leader's household ''half Pakistan.''

The 42nd Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court Judge, N Shivakumar, recorded her statements and scheduled the next hearings for August 7 and 8.
