China has imposed sanctions on US Representative Jim McGovern for interfering in its domestic affairs. The sanctions include asset freezes, transaction prohibitions, and visa bans. This is part of a series of sanctions amid strained US-China relations, further exacerbated by disputes over Taiwan and human rights issues.
China has imposed sanctions on U.S. Representative Jim McGovern, accusing him of 'frequently interfering' in its domestic affairs.
The measures against McGovern include freezing his assets in China, prohibiting any transactions or collaborations with him, and denying visas for him and his family, announced China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This marks one of several sanctions China has levied against U.S. lawmakers and companies as Beijing-Washington ties deteriorate.
