Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee appeared before the Supreme Court on Wednesday to challenge the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) summons in a money laundering case.

Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, representing Banerjee, argued that the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) lacks a clear procedure for summoning accused individuals, raising concerns about adherence to legal standards.

The court hearing, overseen by Justices Bela M Trivedi and Satish Chandra Sharma, remains ongoing and will continue tomorrow. The case centers on an alleged coal scam in West Bengal, with Banerjee contesting the Delhi High Court's refusal to quash the ED's summons.
