A 17-year-old male suspect remains in police custody on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, after the rampage at a 'Taylor Swift yoga and dance workshop,' an event for children aged 6 to 11. The attack saw eight other children and two adults wounded, with five children in critical condition.

Social media speculation falsely linking the suspect to radical Islamist groups incited further unrest. Over 50 officers were injured during protests that targeted the town's mosque. Chief Constable Serena Kennedy reassured residents of increased police presence and measures.
