In Parliament on Wednesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused the Kerala government of disregarding advance warnings about potential floods and landslides, which led to severe casualties in Wayanad.
Shah pointed out specific dates when warnings were relayed and criticized the state's inaction despite the deployment of NDRF teams. At least 167 have died and more than 200 were injured due to the massive landslides.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan refuted Shah's claims, highlighting inconsistencies in the presented timeline of alerts. Both leaders, however, expressed the need for unity and focused efforts in disaster management rather than engaging in blame games.
