Navi Mumbai Police Apprehend Transgenders for Public Nuisance
Police in Navi Mumbai have detained 21 transgenders for allegedly causing public disturbances by making objectionable gestures. The Anti-Human Trafficking Cell received numerous complaints, leading to coordinated actions at various locations. Twelve individuals were detained from Juinagar, six from APMC truck terminal, and three from Uran Phata.

In a significant move, Navi Mumbai police have apprehended 21 transgenders who were reportedly creating disturbances in public areas, an official confirmed on Thursday.
The Anti-Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC) initiated the action following complaints from residents about objectionable gestures from the transgenders. Three separate teams executed the operation on July 30 at multiple locations including Uran Phata, Juinagar, and the APMC truck terminal, officials said. As a result, 12 individuals were detained in Juinagar, six at APMC truck terminal, and three from Uran Phata.
Authorities have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under section 296 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the CBD, Nerul, and APMC police stations, further strengthening the legal action against the accused.
