Axel Rudakubana, a 17-year-old, has been charged with three counts of murder and ten counts of attempted murder following a tragic stabbing at a dance class in northwest England. His identity was revealed in court on Thursday as he will turn 18 next week.
Judge Andrew Menary at Liverpool Crown Court allowed the name to be revealed despite the teen's current minor status. Rudakubana stands accused of murdering Alice Dasilva Aguiar, 9, Elsie Dot Stancombe, 7, and Bebe King, 6, in Southport.
The teen also faces ten counts of attempted murder for injuries sustained by eight children and two adults. Law enforcement has yet to disclose the motive behind the attack, but it was revealed that the alleged weapon used was a kitchen knife with a curved blade.
