Film Director Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault

A 30-year-old film director in Visakhapatnam was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 25-year-old software employee. A 30-year-old film director was arrested in Visakhapatnam for allegedly sexually assaulting a 25-year-old software employee, police reported on Thursday.

The woman filed a complaint at the Gachibowli police station, accusing the director of raping her multiple times. A case was registered, leading to his arrest on Wednesday, officials explained.

The accused, who recently began working on a short film for a streaming platform, had promised the woman a small role. They met through mutual friends and he had assured her a part in the movie. She claimed in her complaint that he invited her to his house for dinner in June, gave her a drink mixed with alcohol, after which she became drowsy and he raped her.

Police confirmed that the woman accused the man of recurrent sexual assault following the initial incident.
