A court in Pune on Friday annulled a non-bailable warrant against quota activist Manoj Jarange. The warrant was initially issued by the judicial magistrate (first class) court in connection with a 2013 cheating case after Jarange failed to appear on July 23.

Jarange appeared before the judicial magistrate (first class) on Friday. His lawyer, Harshad Nimbalkar, submitted an application seeking the warrant's cancellation, citing Jarange's health issues stemming from an indefinite strike.

Jarange, who was brought to court in an ambulance due to his health condition, presented medical records corroborating his hospitalization. The court subsequently canceled the warrant and scheduled the next hearing for September 3.

The case dates back to 2013, involving charges under Indian Penal Code sections 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust). Jarange, along with two others, is accused of offering Rs 30 lakh for six shows of 'Shambhuraje' but allegedly defaulted on a portion of the payment.
