A special court has decided to withhold former media executive Indrani Mukerjea's passport until the Bombay High Court rules on the CBI's petition regarding her travel abroad. Mukerjea is the prime accused in Sheena Bora's murder case.

On July 19, Special CBI court judge S P Naik Nimbalkar allowed Mukerjea's plea to travel abroad. However, the CBI challenged this decision in the high court, leading to an interim stay on July 29.

Mukerjea, accused of murdering her daughter in 2012, has been out on bail since May 2022. The high-profile case involving multiple arrests, including Mukerjea's ex-husband Peter Mukerjea, remains under judicial scrutiny.
