The Jammu and Kashmir administration has issued a directive mandating that all government employees stationed in Jammu city and Srinagar must attend the main Independence Day celebrations as part of their official duty.

The general administration department emphasized the significance of Independence Day, noting that all government employees are duty-bound to commemorate such a pivotal moment in the nation's history.

The order specifies that all officers or officials in the Union Territory stationed in Srinagar or Jammu must attend the main function of the Independence Day celebrations, 2024, at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar or Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu. Any absence is only permitted with prior approval from an immediate superior.

The department has also urged all administrative secretaries, heads of departments, managing directors, or chief executives of public sector undertakings to ensure that their staff in Srinagar and Jammu attend the celebrations.
