Justin Timberlake Pleads Not Guilty to DUI Charge

Pop star Justin Timberlake pleaded not guilty on Friday to a charge of driving while intoxicated following his June arrest in Sag Harbor, New York. Police had stopped Timberlake after he failed to obey a stop sign and veered off lane.

Sag Harbor Village Justice Carl Irace suspended Timberlake's driving privileges in New York state, with the suspension pending his next hearing on August 9. The hearing was held virtually as Timberlake was in Europe for his world tour promoting his latest album, 'Everything I Thought It Was.'

During the hearing, Judge Irace threatened Timberlake's lawyer, Edward Burke, with a gag order due to comments made to the press after the prior hearing on July 26. Burke maintained that Timberlake was not intoxicated and should not have been arrested. 'The police made a number of very significant errors in this case,' Burke told the media. 'We are very confident that the criminal charge will be dismissed.' Timberlake, 43, was apprehended driving a 2025 gray BMW on June 18 in Sag Harbor shortly after midnight, displaying signs of intoxication according to court documents.
