Delhi Police Tightens Security at Israeli Embassy and Chabad House Following Alerts

The Delhi Police has stepped up security measures at both the Israeli Embassy and Chabad House following alerts from intelligence agencies. This response comes in the wake of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh's assassination in Tehran.

On July 31, an airstrike killed Haniyeh and his bodyguard at a residence in Tehran. According to sources, senior police officials have convened to implement a stringent security net around the two Israeli establishments in the national capital.

A senior officer mentioned that a multi-layered security apparatus is already in place, including several CCTV cameras around both structures. Additional personnel may be deployed if necessary, the officer added. A recent hoax about explosions was investigated and debunked by Delhi Police, who issued a clarification and deleted the misleading post.

The security around the Israeli Embassy has been heightened since a war broke out between Israel and Hamas last year, with two low-intensity blasts reported in the vicinity over the past three years, though no injuries were recorded.
