The NHRC has formally issued notices to the Delhi government, DDA vice chairman, and authorities in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh following a series of fatal drowning and electrocution incidents in Delhi-NCR.

The commission pointed to civic negligence as the cause behind the deaths, highlighting a media report that documented at least 13 fatalities due to infrastructure lapses amid heavy rains.

Authorities have been asked to submit detailed reports within four weeks, covering FIR statuses, actions against responsible officials, compensation for victims' families, and preventive measures to avoid future tragedies.
