Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced on Saturday that the government will construct 100 houses for the victims of the landslide-hit Wayanad. Taking to social media platform 'X', Siddaramaiah expressed Karnataka's solidarity with Kerala in the wake of the tragic event. He assured Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of Karnataka's support.

Sharing Siddaramaiah's post, Congress leader and former Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi expressed deep gratitude to Karnataka's people and government for their generosity. 'Your commitment to building 100 houses is a significant step towards rehabilitation,' Gandhi noted.

Over 215 people have died and more than 500 were injured in the massive landslides that struck Wayanad on July 30. Around 300 people are still missing, and rescue teams are working under challenging conditions to find them. Various organizations and the Mysuru district administration have stepped up with resources like medical equipment, food supplies, and sanitary products to aid the victims.
