Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday urged the court to order protection for the Ayodhya rape victim, highlighting the sensitivity of the case.

Yadav emphasized that efforts to politicize the case must be thwarted and called on the government to ensure optimum medical care for the rape survivor, stating it was its duty to protect the girl's life.

He requested the honourable court take suo motu cognisance of the situation and guarantee full security for the girl due to its seriousness, stressing that attempts to politicize such incidents must not succeed.
