In a heartfelt appeal, former chief minister and current Leader of Opposition, Jai Ram Thakur, has called on the Himachal Pradesh government to expedite relief efforts for the disaster-affected regions.
Addressing a press conference, Thakur expressed the Opposition's readiness to assist in any way possible. He also visited Samej village in Shimla district, where he met with the families affected by the disaster and reviewed ongoing relief and rescue operations.
Thakur found the situation in Samej devastating, urging the government to speed up search operations and provide immediate relief resources. He also called for compensation for victims, akin to the measures taken last year, and flagged off vehicles carrying essential supplies from Rampur to Samej.
