Jiban Krishna Saha, a Trinamool Congress MLA from Murshidabad, on Monday, failed to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning regarding the ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities in school recruitment, an official stated.
While attending the state Assembly, Saha claimed he had not received any summons from the central probe agency. 'I did not get any summons,' said Saha, who was previously arrested by the CBI last year for alleged involvement in the same scam.
Sources within the ED indicated they would reissue a summons to the TMC legislator. Earlier, the central agency had also questioned Saha's wife in connection to the scam. Saha was arrested by the CBI in April 2023 following extensive questioning and is currently out on bail.
