Mid-Day Meal Scam Probe Rocked by Allegations

The Enforcement Directorate and Anti-Corruption Bureau are investigating alleged irregularities in the mid-day meal scheme by the previous Rajasthan government. Education Minister Madan Dilawar disclosed the scam involving 'crores of rupees' during the Assembly session, promising strict action against those responsible.

Alleged irregularities in the mid-day meal scheme by the previous government are being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Rajasthan minister Madan Dilawar revealed in the state Assembly on Tuesday.

As the School Education Minister, Dilawar was responding to supplementary questions posed by an MLA during the Question Hour.

He claimed that a 'scam involving crores of rupees' has been uncovered in the mid-day meal program administered by the previous government. 'The ED and ACB are investigating this matter,' Dilawar stated.

He assured that strict action will be taken against anyone found involved in the 'scam'.

Dilawar also noted that serious irregularities were committed in the mid-day meal scheme during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In response to another question by MLA Lalit Meena, Dilawar earlier mentioned that milk powder is currently being purchased at Rs 421 per kg under the Mukhyamantri Bal Gopal Yojana.
