An unidentified individual has been accused of poisoning a cat in Dadar, Mumbai, according to police reports on Tuesday.

The pet owner discovered the stricken animal on July 26, lying unconscious at her building's entrance with signs of poisoning. Despite being rushed to a veterinary hospital in Parel, the cat succumbed the following day.

The owner filed a complaint with Dadar police on Monday, prompting a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
