Himachal Pradesh Cabinet Announces Relief and Development Measures Amidst Cloudburst Tragedy

The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet has announced financial relief of Rs 50,000 for each family affected by the cloudbursts in Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla districts. The Cabinet paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the tragedy and pledged continued rescue operations to find the missing.

In an effort to address gaps in healthcare services, the Cabinet decided to fill approximately 950 vacant positions in government hospitals across the state. The new hires include 50 medical officers and 700 nurses, significantly boosting the healthcare workforce.

The meeting also approved amendments to the state's mining rules, paving the way for auctioning private lands for mineral extraction and permitting machinery use in riverbeds. Additionally, the Him Unnati agricultural scheme will promote natural farming by establishing 2,600 agricultural groups. Further, the Cabinet introduced new performance appraisal rules for government officers, tying assessments to measurable work outputs.
